Shokrieh is a great choice for a math professor. He did very well in explaining concepts and was always open to answering questions. His lectures were also not bad at all to sit through and were rewarding. 2

Topic: Heights and moments of abelian varieties. Description: In number We extend the notion of canonical measures to all (possibly non-compact) metric graphs. This will allow us to introduce a notion of “hyperbolic measures” on universal covers of metric graphs. Kazhdan’s theorem for Riemann surfaces describes the limiting behavior of canonical (Arakelov) measures on finite covers in relation to the hyperbolic measure. We will prove a generalized version of Farbod Shokrieh speaking at BIRS workshop, Specialization of Linear Series for Algebraic and Tropical Curves, on Monday, March 31, 2014 on the topic: Riemann-Roch theory for graphs and tropical curves.
